Sabancı University 2025 Mercator-IPC Visiting Senior Fellow Ivan Krastev will deliver a seminar titled “The Return of the Future and the Last Man: Politics of Demographic Imagination.” The event will be moderated by Prof. Meltem Müftüler-Baç, Dean of FASS, and will take place on Tuesday, October 14, 2025, from 14:40 to 16:00 at FASS 2034.
In his talk, Krastev will connect the post–Cold War notion of the “last man” with today’s demographic anxieties, raising new questions about the future of democracy. He will also discuss how shifting social dynamics in global politics shape our political imagination.
